On the first day of the Croatian Grand Prix in Zagreb CJC’s Nathon Burns was on form and on the hunt for Olympic qualifying points.
In the -66kg category, he showed world class skill throughout the day, especially in his ne-waza, winning two of his contest by arm-lock. Finishing with 5th place in his third ever Grand Prix attendance shows his great input throughout the day and potential moving forwards on the road to Rio!
Also competing was Danny Williams -73kg, despite getting off to a good start by beating a Lithuanian in his first match he wasn’t able to progress any further. Club mates Owen Livesey -81kg and Ashley McKenzie -60kg also had tough days, bowing out in the first round.
