Camberley had 3 fighters competing in the Junior British Nationals in Sheffield, the competition was important for selection on to the England squad. Sarah Hill was our sole representative on the 1st day of the tournament. She fought extremely well in the -63kg, winning 2 fights to get to the semi final. She lost in golden score to Lubjana Piovesana the eventual gold medallist but then finished on a win in the bronze medal fight. A good start to the tournament, but unfortunately the lads were unable to continue the medal winning streak.
In -66kg we had Lasha Lekishvili, starting the day off strong he also got to the semi final but lost and dropped in to the repecharge. He wasn’t able to pull a medal out of the bag this time losing for bronze and finishing with a 5th place.
Last but not least was Stuart Brown, still developing into his weight category and age band he put in a solid performance winning two fights and losing two. No medal but plenty of important experience gained.
