We had Fiona Chan in the 52 kg category GOLD and Simon Twigg in the 73 kg Silver. Well Done!!! Fiona is flying to Cancun for the World Veterans Championships, we wish her the best of luck.

Frazer Chamberlain out in Cancun Grand Prix beat World champion 2017, MAJDOV, Nemanja Serbia (SRB) , a Canadian and  an Argentinian for his 5th Place -90 kg. He lost to the German in the quarters and to Brazil for Bronze.  Well done!

Tom Kirk received his black belt last night. Huge congratulations to him and must mention his family who have supported him to this momentous event. Well done from all of CJC!!

The Judo Ashes Black Tie Gala Dinner Friday 11th January 2019 7.30pm to 11.00pm Pennyhill Park Hotel. The Ashes is Camberley Judo Club’s biggest fundraising event of the year. Surrey Heath Sports Awards. Phoenix Govey-Gray, who has been nominated for the ‘Young Volunteer of the Year’ award, has been shortlisted as a finalist. Good Luck, Phoenix! Camberley judo Club has also been short listed for Surrey Heath Sports Club for the year, nominated by Tracey Lampitt.

It’s not to be today for Ashley McKenzie. The shido was questionable and then lost concentration. Caught! Shame as the next fight would have sailed him through to the quarters. Ashley has been rehabbing a grade one tear in his knee. Not the best prep for the worlds. Next step-Cancun Grand Prix. Lots more medals

The GB Futures Camp returns for its third year with a group of GB judoka and coaches heading to Tokyo, Japan from 17 – 27 October 2018.
